The HCSP recommends:
- an Indoor Air Reference Value (IARV) for tetrachlorethylen of 40 µg/m3 for chronic exposures (more than 1 year), which could be decreased to 4 µg/m3 when a measurement will be accredited and validated ;
- a Fast Acting Value (FAV) of 200 µg/m3. When it’s exceeded, sources must be searched, and actions be realized in order to reach a concentration below than IARV. Before corrective actions are realized, it’s necessary to prevent access of the establishment open to the public or to rehouse exposed people, until concentration belows under FAV and with a return below IARV within a maximum period of 3 years.
The HCSP indicates the time limits to carry out the corrective actions and the measurement methods recommended.
The HCSP recommends also to keep compliance controls in dry cleanings, adjacents to occupied premises until 2035.
