Armenia, a non-European Union country, reported an outbreak of West Nile virus (WNV) infections in August-September 2024. In this context, the High Council of Public Health (HCSP) is requested to add this country on the exclusion list that justifies a temporary contraindication or screening measures for donors having stayed there, in connection with WNV. In view of the available data, the HCSP recommends the registration of this country on this exclusion list. It takes this opportunity to update the list based on indigenous human cases of WNV infections reported in 2024 by the ECDC (European Center for Disease Prevention and Control) in the following countries and regions of the European Union: Lower Saxony in Germany, all islands of Greece, Abruzzo in Italy, Czech Republic (entire country), Slovakia (entire country) and North-Eastern Slovenia (Drava and Mura).
